Safety, Proficiency, Confidence, Preparedness
Routine flying, while essential for maintaining overall proficiency, doesn't fully challenge the range of competencies required for handling emergencies or complex flight scenarios. Mastering emergency procedures, practicing abnormal situations, and refining critical decision-making skills are vital to becoming a truly proficient Aerostar pilot. Training allows you to sharpen these abilities in a controlled environment, preparing you for the unexpected challenges that may arise in real-world flying.
Beyond emergency preparedness, recurrent training helps combat skill decay, a natural occurrence when certain maneuvers or procedures aren't regularly practiced. Ongoing training enables Aerostar pilots to maintain peak performance, enhance safety, and build confidence across a range of flight conditions.
Flight training is more than just a regulatory or insurance requirement, it's an investment in your safety and that of your passengers. Train regularly and continue to fully enjoy the experience of flying your remarkable Aerostar!

-
Do I need my own aircraft for training?
Yes. You provide a suitable Aerostar with a current annual, appropriate avionics including a working autopilot, and legal to fly in all other respects. I recommend that the oil is changed if it will exceed 25 hours by the end of training.

What about your travel expenses?
Actual out-of-pocket expenses are billed not in excess of market rates for economic business travel, including transportation, hotel accommodations, and meals. If I fly my Aerostar I charge for an equivalent economy airline ticket for the same travel itinerary.

About
I began flying in 1988, and I became a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) to help others achieve their own aviation goals.
My experience with Aerostars began in 1999 when I acquired a 602P/700 for business travel. After many years flying that aircraft, I transitioned to a turbine Twin Commander—another Ted Smith masterpiece. And then I returned to the Aerostar, rediscovering my connection to this remarkable aircraft. I acquired a 601P/700 which I now operate for my personal transportation.
As a Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI), I focus on providing customized, comprehensive training designed to meet each pilot’s unique goals. My real-world experience as an Aerostar pilot enhances the instruction I provide, ensuring you gain the skills and confidence to operate the Aerostar with precision and safety.
My commitment is to help you become the safest, most proficient Aerostar pilot you can be. Whether you're pursuing initial training, recurrent training, or simply looking to solidify your skills, I will help you achieve your goals.
